Valentine delivered 2 healthy kids on March 26th. The doeling and bucking are so cute and just starting to really jump around. Come play on Saturday, April 4.
This was the last birth until next August/September and so the herd is settling in with the new little ones. Most of these kids have or will move on to other homes but I do plan to keep one or two does through to next season for replacement does.
2015 Kidding Recap:
Tink delivered 2 kids January 10 – Melba (female two-tone) and Flash (Male with spots)
Glinda delivered 2 kids January 11. One doeling and one buckling that moved to Mendocino County with a sweet family. They were purchased by the oldest daughter about 12 years old, building her family’s herd.
On March 8, Bobbin and Roadie, best friends forever, delivered on the same day. Bobbin had 4 with ease in about 15 minutes. About 2 hours later Roadie experienced over an hour of stressed labor and delivered 1 huge buckling, immediately named Legs. Bobbin decided four was too many kids to take care of so she stopped feeding all of them on their 3rd day. They were sold quickly to a family in Klamath Falls excited to bottle feed.
Then second to last, Spots delivered 3 kids on March 10th. She delivered 2 females and 1 male. I am almost certain I will be keeping the light colored doe from Spots.
