Oodles of Kids
In the first 4 months of 2019, Maagic Mountain Farm was blessed with 24 kids from 9 does. Four of the does delivered 4 kids. What an abundant Spring!
Watch the kids frolic on the log with the natural orchestra in the background. Moms are mowing the lawn while the kids play.

Daisy, the lead goat, was first to deliver on Saturday afternoon of February 20 and adds 1 doeling and 1 buckling to the herd. Congratulations Daisy!
Then Sunday, February 28 Coral delivered 3 uniquely colored little buckings. The came out small, medium and large in that order and sizing. Congratulations Coral!
Next up: Valentine as soon as next week! Pearl & Glinda end of March, Spots early April, and the life keeps coming!
Birth Under the Apple Tree
This morning I was honored with an amazing opportunity. While milking and looking out on to the pasture, out under the tree, our first-time mother, Shadow, gave birth. The labor started while washing goat #1 and I watched her: up and down, pawing the ground building a nest, up and down, and around, yawn, yawn (opening), and then between goat #6 and #7 the new baby was born right under the apple tree in the dappled light. It was really an amazing way to start the day!

2015 Spring Birthing Season is Complete
Valentine delivered 2 healthy kids on March 26th. The doeling and bucking are so cute and just starting to really jump around. Come play on Saturday, April 4.
This was the last birth until next August/September and so the herd is settling in with the new little ones. Most of these kids have or will move on to other homes but I do plan to keep one or two does through to next season for replacement does.
2015 Kidding Recap:
Tink delivered 2 kids January 10 – Melba (female two-tone) and Flash (Male with spots)
Glinda delivered 2 kids January 11. One doeling and one buckling that moved to Mendocino County with a sweet family. They were purchased by the oldest daughter about 12 years old, building her family’s herd.
On March 8, Bobbin and Roadie, best friends forever, delivered on the same day. Bobbin had 4 with ease in about 15 minutes. About 2 hours later Roadie experienced over an hour of stressed labor and delivered 1 huge buckling, immediately named Legs. Bobbin decided four was too many kids to take care of so she stopped feeding all of them on their 3rd day. They were sold quickly to a family in Klamath Falls excited to bottle feed.
Then second to last, Spots delivered 3 kids on March 10th. She delivered 2 females and 1 male. I am almost certain I will be keeping the light colored doe from Spots.
